Our Instructors
Since our inception 11 years ago, it's been the mission of Dancescape to instill within each student the love of dance and to assist all students to develop as poised, self-assured individuals. With our more than 50 years of combined experience in dance and dance instruction, we hope to develop the creativity of each and every student in a positive, professional environment. We now have a state-of-the-art studio to accommodate our students' growing needs.
Ms. Jessica Boudreau
A resident of Covington, she's the owner and director of Dancescape. She has 33 years of dance and performing experience in the local community and has also been teaching dance for 20 years. Ms. Jessica's training began under the tutelage of the late Rosemerry Fuhrmann Hanian of Creative Dance Center.
Ms. Boudreau has performed in and choreographed more than 30 plays for local community theaters and high schools. Her performances have included the likes of the New Orleans Opera. She also has extensive experience teaching music and creative movement in local schools in St. Tammany Parish and Tangipahoa Parish. Ms. Boudreau also sits on the board of the Furmann Auditorium and the St. Tammany Parish Art Association.
Ms. Jessica has studied many different varieties of dance, including East Indian and African. She has brought her knowledge of dance to her own studio. After Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Boudreau relocated Dancescape to better suit the needs of her staff and students. Ms. Jessica strives to share her love of dance and performance with the community for years to come.
Ms. Rebecca Boudreau
A resident of Covington, Ms. Boudreau has been an instructor at Dancescape for the past 7 years. She brings a unique style and expertise in hip-hop dance. She began dancing at the age of 3 and trained under the late Rosemerry Fuhrmann Hanian of Creative Dance Center.
During high school, Ms. Boudreau took a break from dance to pursue her love for sports and continued this into college. She also served as the director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Covington and Hammond for 5 years. During her time there, she organized a dance and cheer program for the local participants.
Years later, Ms. Becca returned to her first passion, dance, hoping to inspire and instill confidence in her students. She continues to enjoy her rewarding career at Dancescape. Ms. Boudreau has now joined Mrs. Pounds in being Co-Assistant Director of Dancescape.
Mrs. Revè Link Pounds
Mrs. Reve' Link Pounds, a Covington native, began dancing at the age of 6 at Creative Dance Center under the direction of the late Rosemerry Fuhrmann Hanian. In 2000, she became an instructor here at Dancescape and was named Assistant Director soon after. Mrs. Pounds founded a Liturgical Dance Group at St. Scholastica Academy, where she attended high school. Since graduating, she has returned to S.S.A. to choreograph for the group. She has also performed in and choreographed many musical theatre productions for local theaters and high schools.
Mrs. Pounds attended Southeastern Louisiana University where she majored in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. She also studied ballet and modern dance at Southeastern and was chosen to perform with the legendary Skip Costa of New York. She has also performed with the Southeastern Dance Department, Fellom Ballet, Izzy Moving Dance Theatre, and B.C. Fields Dance Company. In 2007, she graduated Suma Cum Laude from Southeastern with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Mrs. Pounds currently teaches pre-kindergarten at Christ Episcopal School in Covington, and has recently taken on more of a managerial role at the studio while staying home to take care of their new son, Thomas. She resides in Covington with her husband, John.
Mrs. Bonnie Lester Sarver
Mrs. Bonnie Lester Sarver is a New Orleans native and has been studying dance for 33 years. She has 18 years of teaching experience and has loved every minute. Mrs. Sarver was a member and officer of the De La Salle High School Cavalettes, a member of Le Clerq Ecole De Ballet Performing Company, and a featured performer at the Superbowl XXIV halftime show. She has choreographed community drama productions and enjoys furthering her dance education by traveling the country to attend workshops and conferences from top professionals in the dance world.
Mrs. Bonnie is happy to be the newest addition to the Dancescape faculty and is excited to share her passion with our students. Mrs. Bonnie currently resides in Mandeville with her husband, Mark. They are excitedly awaiting the birth of their first child.
